Calculations for the Arena are out of date as of Season 18. Adventure Mode has been updated.
When you are playing Axie Infinity you can earn Smooth Love Potions (SLP) by doing Adventures or Arena battles. SLP can be used to breed Axies, or sold directly on an exchange.

There are three ways to earn SLP in-game:
- Daily Quest
- Adventures (PVE)
- Arena (PVP)
Before jumping into either Adventure mode or Arena matches you will need to know how Energy works. Each Adventure/Arena battle will cost you 1 Energy. You need Energy to earn EXP in Adventure mode and to earn SLP in the Arena. This means that once your Energy has run out, then Adventures are the only way to farm SLP.
The maximum amount and refill speed of Energy depends on the number of Axies you own:
- 3 to 9 Axies: 20 Energy, regaining 5 Energy every 6 hours
- 10 to 19 Axies: 40 Energy, regaining 5 Energy every 3 hours
- 20+ Axies: 60 Energy, regaining 5 Energy every 2 hours
The amount of Energy and amount of time left before you regain Energy is shown at the top of your screen in the main menu.
The daily quest will earn you a total of 25 SLP. To complete the quest you will have to:
- Complete the daily check in
- Complete 10 Adventure mode levels
- Win 5 Arena matches
Adventure mode is currently capped at 50 SLP per day. The amount of SLP you will earn from each level is random, but the higher the level the more SLP is rewarded. The first time you play a level you are certain to receive SLP, but if you play it again you might not be rewarded for completing the level.

Defeating certain bosses in Adventure mode earns you one time SLP rewards:
- Level 21: 200 SLP
- Level 36: 300 SLP
To earn SLP in the Arena you will need to spend Energy. If you have no Energy, then you won’t be able to earn SLP. Your only way to earn SLP without Energy is by playing Adventure mode.
The amount of SLP you can earn from Arena matches is based on your rating. The higher your rating, the more SLP you will earn. Axie Edge has listed the following amounts per win based on rating:
- Under 800 – No SLP gained
- 800-999 – 1 SLP per win
- 1000-1099 – 3 SLP per win
- 1100-1299 – 7 SLP per win
- 1300-1499 – 8 SLP per win
- 1500-1799 – 9 SLP per win
- 1800-1999 – 10 SLP per win
- 2000-2199 – 11 SLP per win
- 2200+ – 12 SLP per win
The above SLP per win is out of date as of season 18. These will be updated soon.
Maximum amount of SLP per day
The SLP calculations below out of date as of season 18 (adventure mode is correct, SLP based on arena rating is not). These will be updated soon.
If you have 20+ Axies you will be to do 60 Arena matches each day (if you spend your 60 Energy and wait a full day for the Energy to regain). If you are anywhere between 1100 to 2000 you will earn about 7 to 10 SLP per day, which means you can earn 420 to 600 SLP per day from the Arena. You will also be able to get 50 SLP from Adventure mode and 25 SLP from the daily quest. This is a total of 495 to 675 SLP per day with 20+ Axies.
The maximum amount of SLP you can earn per day is related to your Arena rank and the amount of Axies you have.
If you apply the same math to each Energy tier you get a max amount of SLP per day of:
- 3 to 9 Axies (20 Energy): 215 to 275 per day
- 10 to 19 Axies (40 Energy): 355 to 475 SLP per day
- 20+ Axies (60 Energy): 495 to 675 SLP per day
These are maximum amounts for a rating between 1100 and 2000. To get these amounts you would have to win every Arena match, which is unrealistic. With a win rate of 50% you would get these numbers:
- 3 to 9 Axies (20 Energy): 110 to 125 per day
- 10 to 19 Axies (40 Energy): 215 to 275 SLP per day
- 20+ Axies: (60 Energy) 285 to 375 SLP per day
Tips on how to farm

Find a team that works well for you in PVP. You can use Axie Zone to check out which teams are performing well on the leaderboards. This site is great to learn from the best, because it will even let you watch their Arena matches.
If you use the same team for PVE then go for a team with high damage output. For instance, if you choose a team that is all about the late game, then clearing levels in the PVE will also take you a long time. Check out my Class Guide if you want to learn more about Axies abilities.
The daily quest and Adventures are sure to give you 75 SLP each day, but Arena matches are more of a gamble. If you are particularly unlucky that day and loose a lot of your matches, then the SLP you earn that day will also be low.
The higher levels in Adventure mode give you more SLP, so it helps to get your Axies to a higher level. This is not because it will award you more SLP at the end of the day, but because you will reach the cap of 50 SLP faster. If you have to farm the 50 SLP by doing level 1 to 4 over and over then it will take much longer.
To maximize SLP earnings each day:
- Level your Axies first. If they are low level then spend your Energy on Adventures
- When your Axies are high level: Spend all your Energy on Arena Matches
- Play Adventures until you reach the cap of 50 SLP (Level 19 seems a good level to farm)
- Claim the Daily Quest reward
If you don’t have a lot of time then make sure you get the Daily Quest. What you do afterwards depends on the amount of Energy you have left. If you have Energy left: Jump into the Arena. No Energy left: Jump into Adventures.
You can currently claim your SLP every 14 days. Go to your account and make sure your Ronin wallet is connected. Choose ‘Claim Tokens’ in the menu and press ‘Claim SLP’.
If your SLP is still locked then it will show you when you will be able to claim it.
The Daily Quest and SLP from Adventures are a given. The amount of SLP you will earn from Arena can vary greatly: What is your current rating? How good is your team? How good are you at the game? How many Axies do you have (and how much Energy can you spend/regain)?
